A Letter from the Web Wilderness

Hello and welcome! If you are reading this now, I managed to finally wrap up development on this shiny new website and managed to deploy it to the world.

I had the thought to create a little non-commercial, non-corporate site for myself many years ago. Partially because I saw old web 1.0 sites sneaking back into style, which made me long for the years of Homestead Builder and Dreamweaver (then again, I am sure if I had to use these tools again I would not long for them for very long). And partially because between running a successful company and looking for senior management roles in development world, I wanted to be able to separate out my silly and not always pg hobbies from my more professional face (shark hat not included).

Camp Rew is my goal for that. Where the gifs are abundant, capitalization is not required (AND ALL CAPS IS ACCEPTED), and where I can change the layout every few weeks without worrying if the link to my CV is still prominent.

You join us in our first season, Winter 25. The snow is slowly falling. Most of the pages are still half complete. Links and journals are still sparse. The guestbook still crisp and new.

Over the coming days, weeks, and months I hope to add way more content, more sections, and probably a bit more color to this site. Maybe someday this post will disappear as I realize I still am not a huge fan of blogging, or maybe it will be the first letter you will see as you enter our vast camp that grows over the coming years. Whether you find this through a web ring, forum, or even my professional life, I hope you enjoy what you find.

For now, welcome to my new home on the internet, Camp Rew. Just another pretty spot for you to enjoy in the wilderness of the web.
